Solar feed-in tariff

Your solar tariff determines how much you earn for excess solar power fed into the grid.

Controlled load import costs

A controlled load is a seperate circuit connected to your house, usually used to heat water or run a pool pump. Controlled loads are usually charged at a different rate to your main electricity supply. Some retailers charge a seperate daily fee to have a controlled load connected to your house. While historically controlled loads could be used to take advantage of surplus power in the grid overnight, they may not be as cost effective (or convenient) as they once were due to the abundance of midday solar power.

General terms

When the Energy Plan ends, you'll receive our standard retailer feed-in tariff published on our website. Not available all areas or property types. Residential customers only. See originenergy.com.au/2889/Terms-and-conditions for more.

Eligibility

This plan is available to the following customers.

  • Net metered Solar PV system: Your solar system must be net metered; you aren't receiving any Government feed-in tariff.
  • Tariff: Offer available to residential customers with eligible network tariff. Call us on 13 24 61 to determine eligibility and available tariff options.

Incentives

This plan offers the following incentives.

  • Origin Go Zero Electricity: If you take up Origin Go Zero Electricity, we will offset the greenhouse gas emissions from your electricity or gas supply through Climate Active, a government-backed carbon neutral certification scheme. The cost is $1.50 per week (Incl.GST).

Green power

This plan allows you to purchase green power.

  • GreenPower: For 1.13 cents/kWh 25% of your electricity usage is matched with electricity from Government accredited GreenPower sources
  • GreenPower: For 2.25 cents/kWh 50% of your electricity usage is matched with electricity from Government accredited GreenPower sources
  • GreenPower: For 4.50 cents/kWh 100% of your electricity usage is matched with electricity from Government accredited GreenPower sources

Contract expiry

At the end of the benefit period we may extend your current Energy Plan or set you up with a new Energy Plan but only if we have written to you first and you havent told us not to
